About the Role:
We are a growing Durable Medical Equipment (DME) company expanding our in-house billing team. We are seeking a DME Billing Specialist to support billing operations for Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and commercial insurance claims.
Our primary product focus includes Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) and other recurring DME supplies. Prior CGM experience is strongly preferred, but experienced DME billers who are comfortable learning CGM workflows are encouraged to apply.
This role is ideal for a hands-on biller who understands DME claim submission, payer rules, and billing accuracy, and wants to be part of a growing billing organization.
This is not hospital billing or physician-office-only billing.
Key Responsibilities:
Claim Submission & Billing:
- Prepare and submit DME claims to Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and commercial payers
- Support billing for recurring DME and CGM resupply claims
- Ensure claims meet payer requirements prior to submission
- Verify correct use of:
- HCPCS codes
- Units of service
- Modifiers
- Dates of service
Billing Accuracy & Issue Resolution:
- Identify and correct billing errors and rejections
- Assist with resolving front-end denials and payer issues
- Work closely with AR and collections teams to resolve unpaid claims
- Escalate recurring billing issues to leadership
Documentation & Coordination:
- Confirm required documentation is present prior to billing
- Coordinate with documentation and intake teams when information is missing
- Follow established billing workflows and SOPs
Required Experience & Skills:
- Applicants without Durable Medical Equipment (DME) billing experience will not be considered.
- 2+ years of DME billing experience
- Experience billing Medicare and/or commercial insurance
- Familiarity with DME claim submission workflows
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment
Strongly Preferred:
- Experience with Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) billing
- Experience with Medicare Advantage plans
- Experience billing recurring or resupply DME items
- Experience with DME billing systems (e.g., Niko Health or similar)
